Britain's number one crime author Martina Cole investigates the life and times of the most notorious female serial killers in a series of six drama documentaries that ask why women kill and why we are surprised when they do.

The series spans the centuries from the Hungarian countesses through Victorian villainesses to modern day killers including Rosemary West, Beverly Allit and the series opener Myra Hindley. Each programme examines the life and criminal careers of an individual killer using expert analysis and dramatic reconstruction.
