Ted Knight is cartoonist Henry Rush who owns a Victorian house that also doubles as an apartment building in San Francisco. Living with him are his wife, their two daughters, 21-year-old Jackie and 18-year-old Sara. When the downstairs tenant, suddenly dies, the girls decide to move out of their parent's apartment and take the apartment. But the girls still must contend with Henry who is overprotective and very conservative. A father struggles to overcome the grief of losing his beloved wife and raise their daughter alone. A coming-of-age journey, You is filled with the magic of life and love and family. Sir Ian McKellen plays Murray McKellen (Sir Ian's fictional brother), head of the fictional drama school Clapham Academy of Creative Arts, who allows a documentary film crew to capture the school at work, with the hope this will bring notoriety and much needed funding.
