Picks up new shows and concludes international sales for slate of documentaries

(Cannes March 2003) DLT Entertainment is building its catalogue of programming, concluding deals for two new documentaries at MIPDOC 2003. The leading independent producer/distributor has picked up the international television distribution rights to Roots – Celebrating 25 Years and Moving House Adventure.

Produced by US independent Leonard Productions, Roots – Celebrating 25 Years is an award-winning documentary which takes a look back at the controversial and ground-breaking miniseries, as well as looking forward at its enduring legacy.

The one-hour special, which aired as a primetime special on NBC in 2002, looks at the 1977 overnight television and social phenomenon which permanently altered domestic US views on slavery race and culture. Executive Produced by David L. Wolper & Judith Leonard in association with Quincy Jones Productions, it remains the country’s third highest-rated program in television history. DLT Entertainment has worldwide rights to the documentary outside the US.

In a separate deal, DLT Entertainment has picked up the worldwide rights, excluding Canada, to two-hour documentary Moving House Adventure. Produced by M.A.B. Productions and Executive Produced by Michael A. Braun, Moving House Adventure combines the current audience appetite for both historical and make over shows. The documentary follows the fascinating and entertaining trials of moving the location of a 200-year-old Cape Cod House and restoring it to its original beauty.

Recent documentary sales concluded by DLT Entertainment include Charles Rennie Mackintosh to China, Elvis: The Beginning to UK video and DLT's classic Benny Hill's World Tour - New York has also been picked up for video release in the UK, France and Germany. There are also a number of international broadcast and video deals imminent for DLT’s new entertainment special A Tribute to Spike.
