CLARE ALTER APPOINTED VP OF DLT CABLE & HOME VIDEO SALES
New York, 31 Mar 2005 – CLARE M. W. ALTER
has been named Vice President of Cable and Home Video Sales for DLT
Entertainment. For the past 20 years she has worked in the U.S. for U.K. based
broadcast media companies. She served as Vice President of U.S. sales for
Carlton International from 1988 until the company merged with Granada
International in 2004. Her appointment is part of DLT’s plans to expand its
acquisition of foreign produced programming for sales to US outlets as well as
to exploit its existing catalog.
“Clare has demonstrated an ability to
consistently maximize sales revenues of all genres of programming to U.S.
broadcast networks, Pay TV, Basic Cable and the digital broadcast market,” said
DLT Vice President Don Taffner, Jr. “We’re excited to have her on our team since
she has a proven track record and excellent relationships with major U.S. cable
channels, as well as a keen knowledge of U.S. video and non –theatrical

attractions. Taffner is negotiating deals to air the two specials on U.S.
television. The new shows will be written by Bob Larbey who has written all of
the previous nine series. Syd Lotterby will produce and direct as he has so
performed since the series originated in 1992. Dame Judi Dench and her long-time
co-star, Geoffrey Palmer, will return as well.
Alter has previously served as U.S. sales
representative for Central Television, RKO Pictures and Lionheart Television.
She began her career with Thames Television in London in 1972.
