AS TIME GOES BY – The Family is Together Again!!!

Los Angeles: Leading independent DLT Entertainment and its sister company, The Theatre of Comedy, have been commissioned by the BBC to produce two 45-minute specials of their hit series As Time Goes By, announced Don Taffner Jr, Vice President.

The specials, to be filmed in the New Year were commissioned by the BBC1 Controller Lorraine Heggessey and will be written by Bob Larbey who has written all of the previous nine series. Syd Lotterby will produce and direct as he has so performed since the series originated in 1992.

While series nine in 2002 was thought to be the closing chapter in the lives of Jean Pargetter and Lionel Hardcastle, at a recent cast and creative team reunion party, Oscar/BAFTA winner-Dame Judi Dench said how much she missed the As Time Goes By family and fancied doing a couple of more specials. The BBC agreed and now pre-production on two new specials is under way. So, now Dame Judi Dench and her long-time favourite co-star, Geoffrey Palmer will return.

Fans of the show will be intrigued to find out what has happened to the Hardcastles and their extended family in the three years since the last series went to air. We know there will be some surprises!!!

As Time Goes By has always been a highly rated program with an above normal audience appreciation index and often was the top rated entertainment program of the week.

Don Taffner Jr, Vice President of DLT Entertainment said; "It is a privilege to work with Dame Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer, two of the UK's leading actors. Supported as they are by a top cast and creative team, we are thoroughly looking forward to filming the specials. The fans are in for a treat."
