Former BBC Comedy Executive Simon Lupton Joins DLT Entertainment as Consultant

London 13 October 2010. Award-winning production and distribution company, DLT Entertainment, today announced that Simon Lupton has joined the company as a Production Development Consultant. Lupton previously spent three years at the BBC as an executive editor for comedy commissioning, and was a BBC Executive Producer on series such as My Family, which is also made by the company.

In his new role, Lupton will be working alongside to John Bartlett to develop new comedy projects for all UK broadcasters, as well as investigating new business opportunities for the company. Lupton’s BBC his credits include: Catherine Tate: Nan’s Christmas Carol (BBC One), Horne and Corden (BBC Three), Getting On (BBC Four) and Harry and Paul (BBC One).

Don Taffner Jr, President of DLT Entertainment commented: “When we heard that Simon was leaving The BBC to work on some independent projects, we jumped at the opportunity to work with him. He has a wealth of expertise in the comedy genre, having worked with an impressive list of on and off screen talent. Having worked with him for the last two series of My Family, I know he understands the shared vision that we have for the company and will be invaluable in working alongside John Bartlett, who has been our producer for My Family for the last 11 series”.
