Kevin Whatley stars as Dr. Jack Kerruish, a doctor with ambitions to work in a country practice in England after spending three years in Africa.
Dr. Kerruish travels to a small Derbyshire village which is undergoing changes, with The Beeches clinic in need of repair and a new partner. But is Dr. Jack the answer to The Beeches prayers? Setting up a clinic in the middle of nowhere seems to be the ideal project for the go-getting Dr. Kerruish, but the small village may not be ready for the unorthodox doctor.
Kerruish is used to getting his way but seems to have met his match in Beth Glover (Amanda Burton) a partner at The Beeches Clinic. Their forceful personalities fuel a sexual tension between the two and soon Jack and Beth become more than professional partners. They soon learn that they must come to terms with working as a team in a world where there is more to medicine than saving lives.
