DLT Entertainment Appoints Kris Slava As Senior Sales Consultant
London Monday 7th March 2016: DLT Entertainment has appointed Kris Slava as its Senior Sales Consultant assisting with the day to day sales of its programming slate in the US.
Slava will be based in New York and will be charged with increasing distribution of DLT’s finished programming slate in the US with a remit to focus on cable channels, commercial syndication as well as digital and streaming services in the market. Slava will report to DLT’s President Don Taffner Jr.
DLT’s programming slate includes iconic US sitcoms such as Three’s Company (which was based upon Thames TV’s Man About The House) and DLT’s own productions including the multi-award winning My Family and As Time Goes By.
Announcing the appointment, DLT Entertainment President Don Taffner Jr, said: “Kris is a rare breed, having worked as a network executive on the commissioning side, a creative and a sales agent. We are delighted that he has joined us as we continue to grow our business in the US and look to new growth opportunities in the international market.”
Kris Slava added: “I am excited to be joining DLT Entertainment which has a strong and respected heritage in producing and distributing world-class content. I look forward to working on growing the business in the US.”
Slava has held senior posts at major US networks including A&E, Bravo and Ovation where he was SVP of Programming and Production. Under his leadership Slava relaunched the channel and grew the audience from five million to 52 million. During his tenure at Bravo, Slava relaunched the channel’s online offering growing the monthly unique users by 30 percent.
DLT Entertainment is currently developing a UK version of smash hit Scandinavian drama Nurses following a deal with Swedish distributor Eccho Rights.
The hit series explores the professional and personal lives of four female colleagues who cope in different ways with the challenges of working on a trauma ward. Dealing with life and death situations on a daily basis, they save lives with determination, strength and a black sense of humour in a system that sometimes seems designed to do the opposite; while struggling to keep their own personal relationships on track.
