'have made it known loudly that I’ve had a lovely time here in London. I have loved that so many parents made my show their choice for their children’s first visit to the theatre, but I’m starting to get itchy feet dears – so the time has come to have a little VaCAY. I’ve decided I’m going to take myself on a world tour – like Taylor Swift – but with bigger corsets.'

The hit musical Mrs. Doubtfire has extended its run until 2025 and added a Sunday show!.

After losing custody in a messy divorce, Out-of-work actor Daniel creates the alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives. As his new character takes on a life of its own, Mrs. Doubtfire teaches Daniel more than he bargained for about how to be a father.

Shaftesbury Spotlights Employees for International Women’s Day
To celebrate International Women’s Day, Shaftesbury Theatre has been telling the inspiring stories of the women who work every day to keep the Theatre going.

Deputy Head of Ticketing, Fiona Brooke-Holland; Deputy Head of House Management, Natalie Gardner; and Deputy Head of Electrics, Irma Kent, are all featured in the humorous and light-hearted HERstory campaign videos, which explore the employee’s backgrounds, motivations for working in theatre, and the unusual and eventful experiences they’ve had along the way.

Next Phase of The Shaftesbury Theatre's Masterplan Completed
The 1911 bar is the latest in a series of major works which have been undertaken at the Grade II listed building. This includes the development of a second private hospitality space, the Taffner Suite, the installation of a cutting-edge air-conditioning system designed to reduce energy costs, the fitting of a lift which allows people with mobility issues to access the Stalls, and the addition of thirteen spaces for wheelchairs in the Theatre’s auditorium.

In anticipation of the opening of several new bars and hospitality suites, the Shaftesbury has announced its partnership with several award-winning brands, including BrewDog, Halewood and Amalia. With all brands offering an impressive track record on quality and sustainability, the Theatre is dedicated to providing locally-sourced, unique food and drinks for all its future guests.

Having already won two RIBA awards in 2018, the Open Door Award nomination is another accolade for the Shaftesbury Theatre as we continue with our Dramatic Transformation. Our transformation aims to honour the rich past of the Theatre while also acknowledging the needs of a modern audience. With Bennetts Associates Architects, our new fly tower was designed to house new offices, increase the technical capabilities of the Theatre, and protect the existing Grade II listed Edwardian building.

& Juliet Finishes run at The Shaftesbury Theatre
& Juliet, the award-winning musical which has been thrilling audiences in London since opening in 2019, played its final performance at the Shaftesbury Theatre on Saturday 25 March 2023.

& Juliet first opened at the Manchester Opera House in October 2019. It transferred to London the following month and ever since has played to nightly standing ovations. As well as three Olivier Awards, & Juliet also won 6 Whatsonstage Awards – the most of any production in 2020 – and won further awards at The Black Theatre Awards and The Mousetrap Theatre Awards.
